Advert

The Federation of The Downs and Northbourne CEP is looking to appoint a teaching assistant to join our team at Northbourne CEP. This is a contract, linked to individual support for a specific pupil, initially until the end of the academic year 2019, with the potential to continue beyond that date. The post is to start as soon as possible.

Are you passionate about helping young people fulfil their potential? Do you have experience working with children in the primary range?  Do you have the ability to inspire children and encourage them to grow in independence and self-confidence? Would you like to have the opportunity to support a child with ASD in their learning and development?

We are seeking to appoint a hardworking and friendly Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with ASD in our EYFS class.  You will ideally have experience of working with pupils in a school or nursery setting. You will need to have a high level of literacy and numeracy and some experience of improving outcomes for pupils both academically, emotionally and socially. We are looking for someone who is determined to secure the absolute best for children and will work hard to ensure they achieve everything they are capable of. As well as in the classroom, some support during unstructured play such as playtimes and lunchtimes will also be required.

Information about the school

Northbourne CEP School is a rural, five class primary school, located within the beautiful countryside near Northbourne village and a short 5 minute drive from the towns of Deal and Sandwich. We are a happy and vibrant school looking to add to our team.

Our traditional Victorian building has been thoughtfully extended to accommodate a modern Early Years classroom and 4 further mixed-age classrooms. We have extensive grounds which accommodate our large sports field, adventure play area, wild meadow and orchard, spiritual garden, allotments and greenhouses, chicken coop and honey bee hives, plus our established and hugely popular Forest School.

Northbourne is proud to be a Church of England Primary School. We currently have an Outstanding grading for SIAMS which reflects our strong Christian ethos and the links we have with our local churches. Northbourne was graded Good by OFSTED in September 2016.

At Northbourne we pride ourselves on our strong sense of community and family. We have close links with St Augustine's Church in Northbourne village and also work closely alongside our local Deal primary schools. Northbourne CEP School is a founding Academy member of the Deal Education Alliance for Learning Trust (DEALT) which is a newly formed MAT of eight local primary schools within Deal and the surrounding villages. This unique and exciting collaboration of local schools work together to ensure the very best outcomes for all pupils and their families within our town.

Our personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young persons. All Posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure Application.

Due to the rural location of the school and the availability of public transport it is an advantage to have your own transport.
