Our Deputy Head/Year 3/4 teacher will be starting her maternity leave in Term 6 and we would like to appoint a teacher from Easter to work alongside her initially and to take responsibility for the class when she leaves.

We need someone who enjoys working as part of a close team and who has a passion to inspire pupils to achieve beyond what they thought possible.

We are a caring, friendly, supportive team and we offer a comprehensive induction package to ensure you feel equipped to do the job well.  The children at Rosherville are a delight to work with. They are well behaved and enthusiastic, and will welcome you enthusiastically. We are committed to staff development so there will be opportunities for you to work with others throughout our group of schools to extend your skills further.

To be successful in this post, you will need:

  • Experience of working with Key Stage 2 children
  • A personal high standard of maths and literacy skills
  • An understanding of using assessment for learning to enable pupils to make progress
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn, the maths mastery approach 
  • To be enthusiastic and highly organised about all aspects of teaching and learning
  • Have high expectations of both pupils and yourself
  • To be self-motivated and show creativity when adapting learning to meet the needs of individuals or small groups of children
  • A belief in inclusion, diversity and the right of each child to be successful whatever their needs, abilities and background
  • To be able to inspire, motivate and foster excellent relationships, working in partnership with staff, parents, governors and our wider community
  • To take responsibility for a curriculum subject to support whole school improvement
  • Good interpersonal skills, a sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a hard-working, enthusiastic and committed team

Rosherville Church of England Academy is a welcoming school situated in Northfleet, on the edge of Gravesend town centre.

Everyone in our school works together to provide valuable and memorable learning experiences for our children. and to ensure that each child is given the best possible chance to flourish.
