An exciting opportunity has arisen at the outstanding Gravesend Grammar School for an ambitious, dynamic and highly capable individual to apply for the position of Deputy Headteacher to join our recently appointed Headteacher.

We are a selective school for boys aged 11-18 with a mixed sixth form and part of multi academy The Decus Educational Trust (TDET). Our ethos, as a community Grammar school, is to provide a selective education to those young people in Gravesham who will benefit from the sort of challenge we offer.

Set at the heart of our local community for over 125 years our school’s foundations uphold strong traditions, ethos and culture and we continuously drive improvement and achieve outstanding outcomes.

We will expect you to have a proven track record of providing outstanding leadership, delivering exceptional standards in teaching, learning, behaviour, community engagement and resource management.

Information about the school

Gravesend Grammar School is an 11-18 selective boys grammar school with girls admitted to the Sixth Form. The most recent Ofsted Inspection (June 2015) judged the School as ‘Outstanding’. We became an Academy on 1st August 2011 as part of The Decus Educational Trust (TDET).

The School has a committed staff who provide opportunity and challenge in a caring environment and strive to ensure the students achieve the very best they can at all times. We also have strong working partnerships with parents, governors and the community.

The School has benefited from many improvements in recent years including the addition of new buildings.

The local train station is a short walk from the School and Ebbsfleet International train station is only a 10 minute drive.
