Salary:                               MPS + Leadership TLR

Location:                           Wainscott Primary School, near Rochester. Kent

Date required:                   Spring 2018

We are looking for an outstanding teacher with both recent and relevant experience of inclusion to join our expanding School Leadership Team. The post is a non-class based leadership role with a regular teaching commitment that will vary dependent on identified need.

You must be a talented, creative teacher. Someone who makes learning fun yet challenging, who inspires young minds and who seeks to meet the needs of every child. As a member of SLT you will play an active role in supporting, mentoring and developing staff as well as quality assuring teaching & learning.

You will have the overall responsibility for leading and managing inclusion across the school, including line managing the inclusion staff team. Our children need a champion…someone who gets inclusion…someone who knows that whilst their role is to build relationships with colleagues and outside agencies, they also have to hold those same people to account when the needs of children are not being met. Someone with an outward looking perspective, keen to identify and develop best practice whether it’s within the school or elsewhere.

We are working hard to make our school an amazing place for learners, with an exciting, broad and rich curriculum delivered through innovative and challenging teaching to happy, high achieving children. We have developed a school culture of high expectations for enjoyment and outcomes, where learning is fun, behaviour exemplary and pupils’ attitudes to learning are positive.

Beyond a highly attractive package, we will provide you with a supportive and friendly staff team, the most amazing set of children and parents who appreciate your efforts. We will take your professional and career development seriously, encourage and nurture you and aim to develop you as both a teacher and school leader. Ideally you will already hold the National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete it within 3 years of appointment. You will also need to have a sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice as well as data analysis skills, and the ability to use data to inform provision planning.

We would love you to make the time to visit our school and discover first hand why you need to consider working here.

Please contact the school office on 01634 332550 and speak to Mel our School Business Manager or email her on melaniep@wainscottschool.org.uk if you wish to view the school.
