We have an exciting opportunity for a new Deputy Headteacher to help provide inspirational and motivational leadership across the school.

Stone Bay School is situated in the seaside town of Broadstairs, Kent and specialises in providing both day and residential education for pupils aged 8 to 19 years who are diagnosed with ASD and severe and complex learning needs.

We have a wonderful, caring culture and a high staff to student ratio to support our students. We are committed to building communications between our young people, parents, and staff and to developing each child as an individual to “get it right for every student” so they can reach their full potential.

As Deputy Headteacher, you will promote a relentless focus on the quality of education and delivery of a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of children and young people and produces positive outcomes. You will support the Headteacher in developing the school as a high quality specialist provision.

Working closely with the Headteacher, you will ensure the school has effective leadership and the required team capability to further develop and continually improve. You will be joining an experienced and committed staff team and will have the opportunity to play a major role in shaping the future of our school. We are looking for someone who:

  • Has made an excellent contribution in the learning and progress of pupils and who is able to use their skills and knowledge to develop colleagues in improving teaching and learning
  • Is a highly motivated and forward thinking leader, with the energy and passion to influence whole school development and improvement
  • Has experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs.

Information about the school

Stone Bay School specialises in providing both day and residential education for pupils aged 8 to 19 years who have a diagnosed autistic spectrum disorder, profound, severe and complex needs and additional comorbidities. We currently provide for around 60 pupils.
This is a very exciting time to be joining the school as our roll is continuing to grow and from September 2019 we hope to be adding to our provision with places for pupils in KS1.

Our school is situated on Stone Bay in Broadstairs in a beautiful Victorian building overlooking the sea. The local coastal environment provides many unique and enjoyable learning opportunities for our pupils.
