Portal House wishes to appoint an outstanding KS3/4 Science Teacher committed to raising standards across the school. You will need excellent behaviour management skills, creative teaching and good subject knowledge. The ability to teach all the Sciences across the school is essential.

Would you like to work in a brand new building with amazing facilities, you will have your own new, fully equipped Science Lab and a classroom to teach Science across the school.

Years 7 and 8 follow the National Curriculum programmes of study for Science and Years 9, 10 and 11 are taught the separate Sciences to GCSE. ( Edexcel Exam Board).

Applications are welcome from both experienced SEN teachers and those who are considering a move to this challenging but incredibly rewarding area of education.

Information about the school

All 80 students on roll have an EHC plan with SEMH or ASD as their main SEN need. Most have additional associated diagnosed and undiagnosed needs. All have a broadly average cognitive profile with behaviour presenting as the biggest barrier to accessing education.

It is essential that have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs associated with student who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and or Autism and experience of working successfully with other agencies to help these children achieve positive outcomes. A high proportion of our children are eligible for pupil premium.
