We are looking for an inspirational teacher who would relish the opportunity to stretch and challenge our academically able students. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and NQTs and provide a comprehensive induction and CPD programme for teachers at all stages of their career.

You will be joining DGSB at a very exciting time. We have a new Headteacher, who joined us in September 2018 and who is looking to develop further all the aspects of the school which make it such an enjoyable and rewarding place to learn and teach. As a school, we are also working tirelessly to build on our 2016 OFSTED 'Good' grading by developing innovative approaches to the curriculum and wider learning.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and expect all staff to share in this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo appropriate child protection screening including an enhanced DBS check.

If you are passionate about working with young people, relish a challenge and feel you have the necessary skills for this post, please contact Tracey Ramsden, Headteacher’s PA on 01304-216810, or alternatively email tramsden@dgsb.co.uk.

Information about the school

Dover Grammar School for Boys is a selective school with a school roll of 800 students. Approximately 200 of these are in the Sixth Form. Girls are admitted to the Sixth Form.

DGSB is on a very exciting journey. Having retained our "Good " OFSTED designation, without condition, in October 2019, we are working hard on every aspect of what we do as we want to become even better. We moved into a £26m new school building in July 2022 and our new accommodation provides us with modern, bright, spacious teaching rooms, and has increased opportunities for students both inside and outside of the taught curriculum.

However, our success both in school – we recorded a fantastic Progress 8 score in 2023 of +0.57 - and within the local community means that we are already looking to expand our site and develop opportunities further.

DGSB is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and expect all staff to share in this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to undergo appropriate child protection screening including an enhanced DBS check. An ‘online presence’ check may be carried out before any appointment is confirmed. All appointments are subject to the receipt of satisfactory references.

Non-contributory access to the Benenden Healthcare Scheme is offered to successful candidates.
