Teaching Assistants- Term Time Only - Permanent, Temporary and Casual Relief contracts available

We are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants, to meet the educational, health and wellbeing needs of our pupils with profound, severe and complex needs including autism.

We require Teaching Assistants to work as part of a team of adults in each class. Some experience of working with pupils with special educational needs would be an advantage, though not essential, as training will be given.The successful candidate could be required to work anywhere across the school.

Salary: Kent Range 3 £15,628 - £17,188 fte (equates to £10,692- £11,759 pro rata), plus an annual Special Needs Allowance £1,257 fte (equates to £1,160 pro rata)

The working hours are 9:00 - 15:30 Monday to Friday, working a maximum of five days a week (30 hours), term time only (39 weeks).

In addition to permanent term time roles we also have available:

 - Several maternity cover temporary contracts, starting in February / March

 - Opportunities to join our bank of supply staff. For these roles days and hours to be worked are agreed monthly when possible and depend upon the individual's availability and the school's needs. These staff receive a full induction and training.  Pay is calculated on an hourly rate of £8.83, which includes 73p SEM allowance.

We serve pupils with profound, severe and complex needs, including autism. The school is comprised of Lower School, which includes our Observation and Assessment Nursery called Honey Bees, Secondary Department, and 6th Form.

We currently serve approximately 300 pupils from the ages of three to nineteen, and this is set to increase rapidly over the next year and beyond as we add more classes. The Meadowfield Inclusion Development and Support (MIDAS) Centre is our highly regarded inclusion and outreach service which successfully supports over 60 schools and 70 settings across Swale, increasing capacity to meet the needs of pupils with additional needs.

Across the school we have over 230 members of staff ranging from class based support staff, teachers, the Inclusion Team, Office and Admin Staff, Site Staff, ICT Department as well as our Leadership and Management Team.
