Whinless Down Academy would like to appoint an energetic, enthusiastic and motivated teaching assistant to join our friendly and welcoming team based at St Martin’s School, part of the Whinless Down Academy.

The position involves working in partnership with class teachers with an aim to achieve the best outcomes for our children, supporting individuals and/or groups of pupils. 

Here at St Martin's we believe that the learning environment extends to the playground and lunch hall so part of this role includes lunchtime supervision where we aim to teach children social skills whilst sharing meals and engagement in active play.

The successful applicant will have a good standard of spoken English and will have achieved English and Maths GCSE qualifications to at least a 'C' grade or equivalent. An NVQ Level 3 in Learning Support or Level 3 Teaching Assistant is desirable, or at least a willingness to undertake this qualification.

Visits to the school are encouraged - come and see our happy children engaged in learning!

This position is from 8.30am-3.30pm, 32 ½ hours per week.  Pay is at KR3, pro-rata term-time only.
