Wanted! We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive practioner with a track record of excellent work with children.  The post will adapt and change with the current needs of the school, but will usually involve covering teachers' PPA release time, sickness cover and planned training release time.

The position involves working in partnership with class teachers with an aim to achieve the best outcomes for our children, supporting individuals and groups of pupils. You need to understand how to motivate and encourage pupils to make progress and have the ability to differentiate and adapt learning programmes to suit varying needs.  A knowledge of the new National Curriculum is desirable.

The successful applicant will have a Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) plus knowledge acquired through training and experience to the level of professional standards specified for HLTA status plus additional professional development or be suitably experienced and be willing to undertake training to complete the qualification. The successful person will support our Christian values and ethos.

This position is part time. The hours of work will be from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week. Pay is at KR5 or KR6 depending on experience and qualifications, pro-rata term-time only (39 weeks).

Kennington CE Academy is 3 form entry (12 classes) for Key stage 2 of 360 pupils, situated in North Ashford and serving a mixed community of children who are enthusiastic about learning and their school.

We have strong relationships with our feeder Infant school, Downs View and The Towers, our nearest high school. Our church school status has led us to develop close links with the local parish church. We are sponsored by Aquila, the Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust (www.aquilatrust.co.uk)
