We have an exciting opportunity as we are looking for a talented music teacher to teach music across Key Stage 1 and 2 for 1 day a week. We are looking for someone who will ensure that the lessons they deliver are of excellent quality by following appropriate behaviour management systems, being up-to-date with safeguarding knowledge and most importantly, ensuring that the children are having fun! You will work closely with our music subject leader, ensuring there is progression in the music curriculum. We are lucky to have a dedicated music room and currently offer piano and singing lessons in addition to our curriculum offer.

As the KS1 and KS2 Music Teacher, you will be part of a developing programme to raise standards in delivering high quality music provision across the school. Your work would include whole class music teaching, including offering a progressive programme of tuned instrument teaching – ideally the ukulele. The right candidate might also be able to establish an orchestra, alongside our choir, and offer an afterschool club.

Qualities Required

  • 2 years UK primary music teaching experience

  • Able to improve children's confidence with music

Requirements:

  • Competent knowledge of the primary Music curriculum
  • Experience working with primary aged children
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • A clear Criminal Record (DBS certificate obtainable by the company)
  • Confidence to deliver lessons to groups of up to 30 primary children with and without a Teaching Assistant

Knowledge/training of safeguarding is essential
