Stone Bay School is looking to appoint a dedicated, caring and understanding Family Liaison Officer.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building trusting relationships with students and their families.

You will actively promote the mission of the school, the rights of young people as individuals and provide support and guidance to Parents and Carers.  You will be skilled at developing good relationships and encourage family involvement by working in partnership with families, Parents, Carers to enable our students to have full access to educational opportunities and overcome barriers to learning and development. 

As a member of our safeguarding team you will have a proactive approach to safeguarding, ensuring safeguarding is of the highest quality throughout the school.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience; 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of professionalism
  • Experience of working with children and/or families
  • The ability to work with a variety of outside agencies
  • A true passion for positively influencing the lives of pupils with learning difficulties

 

Whilst previous experience of working in a special school is not essential, knowledge and experience of the issues faced by children with special educational needs or disabilities will be a distinct advantage

We specialise in providing day and residential education for pupils aged 4 to 19 years who have a diagnosis of Autism. We believe that all our pupils are entitled to the very best possible education delivered in an environment that is both safe and conducive to learning. Our unique school is situated on Stone Bay in the seaside town of Broadstairs in a beautiful Victorian building which benefits from stunning views over the English Channel.
