Teaching Assistant

Kent Range 3

Starting salary: £15,628 (pro rata to hours and weeks worked)

 

Hours: 29 hours per week

Weeks: 38 weeks per year

 

We are looking to appoint a permanent Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 Team.   The appointment is for 29 hours a week and is a permanent position. We are offering the opportunity to work in one of the largest Infant Schools in Kent, in a very supportive atmosphere.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Have relevant qualifications or experience (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Good standard of English and Maths, written and spoken.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of Early Years and Key Stage 1 Curriculum.
  • Be able to differentiate when supporting learning.
  • Be a good team player.
  • Be highly organised in record keeping, thoroughly maintaining and updating records.
  • Be flexible and prepared to use their initiative.
  • Be committed to their own professional development.
  • Be someone who enjoys working with young children and is fun to work with!
  • Happy to take responsibility for the class to cover PPA time (2.0 hours per week paid at KR5)
  • Be imaginative, creative, very energetic and prepared to work outside, whatever the weather!
  • Be willing to undertake diabetic training.

This large thriving school is well established in the area and shares a site with Herne Bay Junior School, bounded by Kings Road and Stanley Road and enjoying a central position in the town.

The school is a 3 form entry with a nursery and there are currently 300 children on roll. There is a good staff/pupil ratio throughout the school ensuring an inclusive, creative, supportive and secure environment.
