Job Grade:      Kent Range 6: £19,864 - £21,789p.a.

Hours:             37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

                        Term Time -   Monday to Thursday - 10am to 6.30pm

                                             Friday – 10.30am to 6.30pm

                        School Holidays -  Monday to Thursday – 8am to 4.30pm

                                                   Friday 8am to 4pm

Copperfield Academy is looking to recruit a reliable and enthusiastic Premises and Site Manager to maintain our extensive site. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, diligent, able to use their initiative and have proven skills or experience in the role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Health & Safety and the maintenance of records.
  • Security including key holding.
  • Maintenance, improvement and development of the school building and site.
  • Arrangement and supervision of all maintenance contracts.

 Personal Qualities and Experience:

  • Excellent written and numerical skills in order to complete detailed recordings of data
  • Computer Literate: Microsoft Office (Word; Excel; Outlook) and ability to be able to use other job related IT applications
  • Level 2/3 Diploma (or equivalent) and proficient technical and practical skills
  • Extensive background in the building trade to include experience in a range of disciplines e.g. carpentry, plumbing, electrics, plastering
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements (including COSHH) of a large site and the ability to recognise and take action to avoid potential risks under Health & Safety legislation

Working hours may be subject to variation, such as parents’ evenings, call-outs etc.

Copperfield is an old and long-established Northfleet School, having opened as Dover Road School in 1904.

Increasing success in recent years has meant we are fast becoming a very popular school with local families, and we currently have the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren here of former pupils. We are known for extending a warm welcome to families that are new to Gravesend and to many families new to the UK.
