Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant Vacancy – January 2019

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant with SEN experience to join our friendly team of supportive staff in the Phoenix Centre for Autism. The post will be a full time, term time only position. The responsibilities of this role include undertaking teaching, playtime and lunch supervision duties. 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Relevant experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) preferably with Autism experience
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • A proven ability to work effectively and enthusiastically both independently and as part of a team
  • The experience and ability to engage successfully with children, extending them in purposeful activities and enhancing their learning
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to enforce school rules with patience and understanding
  • A passion for learning and the motivation to improve
