Brunswick House is looking to appoint a high performing, full time teaching assistant who ideally has a minimum of two years' experience of working in the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is a temporary post linked to the annual renewal of SEND funding.

You will have experience of supporting a wide range of needs and a clear understanding of how to inspire and motivate children at the beginning of their education journey.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a good standard of education (equivalent to GCSE grade 'C' in at least English and maths)
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have experience of working as a teaching assistant in the Early Years Foundation Stage or have completed a teaching assistant qualification and are looking for their first post
  • Be flexible in their approach and have a positive work ethic
  • Be skilled in supporting learning and identifying children's next steps
  • Have a secure understanding of Letters and Sounds
  • Be experienced in conducting foundation stage observations
  • Have lots of energy and a good sense of humour
  • Be able to support the teaching of phonics
  • Be able to support the teaching of speech and language programmes
  • Have a clear understanding of the Foundation Stage curriculum
