Teaching Assistant 17.5 hours per week.

Bapchild and Tonge CE (Aided) Primary School is looking for a new member of staff to join our friendly one form entry school. You will be required to work collaboratively in a classroom setting to support on a 1:1 basis. You will be asked to support other pupils in the class and lead intervention groups as necessary.

Initially the role will be until 1st January 2020 due to a maternity cover.

The post is for 3.5 hours per day (mornings), 5 days per week term time only and in-service training days as required. We would like the right person to support over lunchtime which would be an additional 1.5 hours per day. 

This is a maternity post mainly supporting a SEN pupil who is currently in our Year 4 class.

The post is offered on KR3 pro rata 17.5 hour per week term time only. Closing date is midday on Friday 14th December with interviews scheduled for Tuesday 18th December. We would like the successful candidate to commence work as soon as possible subject to notice period.

Information about the school

Bapchild and Tonge CE (Aided) Primary School and Nursery is a one form entry through primary school with 211 pupils currently on roll and a popular Nursery with up to 24 places per session. The School took over the Nursery in January 2021 and has been working hard to invest in new toys, resources and improve the room environment. The school is on the outskirts of Sittingbourne and part of the Rural Swale Collaboration Group (RSCG) of schools. Parents and children describe the school as having a friendly atmosphere and our pupils enjoy coming to school. Our Ofsted inspection (July 2019) said that the school is good and commented that there 'is a strong sense of community which permeates the school, providing care and support for pupils, their families and staff'. SIAMS in February, 2017 graded us as Outstanding overall.
