Appointment of Teacher of Science – KS3/4
Start date: April 2019 (or earlier if possible)

Borden Grammar School is committed to providing students in Swale with every advantage that being a selective school can offer. This vacancy provides the opportunity to teach within the Science department to KS5. The ability to teach Separate/Combined Science to GCSE is essential.
The Science department is successful in many ways and this is reflected in the high take-up rate across all three disciplines in KS5. At GCSE the majority of students are entered for triple science and the remainder pursue the combined award. Outcomes in all Science disciplines at KS4 are strong both with regards to attainment and progress measures.
Extra-curricular projects are common place within the department across all three key stages; the successful applicant would be expected to contribute willingly to this ethos.
This is a post for a suitably qualified teacher; you might be looking for a fresh challenge or even be new to the profession. Most importantly you will be committed to achieving high standards in all areas of school life: academic; pastoral and cultural. Your own personal ethos will reflect the school’s ambition for boys to become confident and curious scientists who will use their skills to make a positive contribution to society.
