Advert

We are seeking a professional, caring individual who wants to provide the best possible education for our children.

The role will involve working alongside two fantastic KS1 teachers and our energetic, creative, well-motivated staff team in supporting a child with general learning difficulties and developmental delay.

We need:

  • An individual who has the ability to enthuse and motivate children.
  • A commitment to support the highest standards of learning.
  • An ability to communicate, work as part of a successful team, take on board advice and use initiative.
  • An individual who is organised, efficient and flexible in their approach.
  • Someone with a willingness to further develop and widen their own skills.

The applicant should have a minimum of GCSE Grade C in English and Maths or equivalent and have good verbal and written skills. The hours of work are 8.45am – 12.00pm three days per week (a total of 9.75 hours per week). One of the days worked must be a Wednesday but there is some flexibility as to the other days, although once decided, these will remain the same each week. This role is term time only and will be paid on Kent Range 3.

We can offer a supportive team of staff and further training as necessary. This post will initially be a temporary contract until 31st August 2019 (as funding is reviewed annually by Kent CC). Please apply via this website. Contact with the school prior to making an application is welcome.

As part of the school's commitment to children's safeguarding and safer recruitment practices, the appointee will be subject to a full DBS check.

Information about the school

We are a small, half-form entry primary school situated in the beautiful Kent countryside, just outside Tunbridge Wells. The school hall is in the Victorian part of the building and most of the classrooms are in a newer purpose built extension. We have a great library space as we believe all children should have the opportunity to read widely and be reading for pleasure. We are small school team that believes we should be doing ‘big school things’. Beyond the core curriculum, our current focus is music, French, PE and developing teacher expertise in computing. The focus has changed and evolved as each new member of staff has joined us bringing with them different passions and skills. We share our high academic expectations with all our staff, parents and young people: we work hard as a group so that all pupils achieve well. More than this, we believe a primary school should be a place where children start to learn who they are, start to learn who they want to be and start to learn how they are going to live their lives.
