We are seeking a professional, caring individual who wants to provide the best possible education for our children.
The role will involve working alongside two fantastic KS1 teachers and our energetic, creative, well-motivated staff team in supporting a child with general learning difficulties and developmental delay.
The applicant should have a minimum of GCSE Grade C in English and Maths or equivalent and have good verbal and written skills. The hours of work are 8.45am – 12.00pm three days per week (a total of 9.75 hours per week). One of the days worked must be a Wednesday but there is some flexibility as to the other days, although once decided, these will remain the same each week. This role is term time only and will be paid on Kent Range 3.
We can offer a supportive team of staff and further training as necessary. This post will initially be a temporary contract until 31st August 2019 (as funding is reviewed annually by Kent CC). Please apply via this website. Contact with the school prior to making an application is welcome.
As part of the school's commitment to children's safeguarding and safer recruitment practices, the appointee will be subject to a full DBS check.
Fordcombe is a rural primary school set in the heart of the Kent countryside. It has up to 105 pupils on-site with approximately 15 pupils per year group. On entry, pupils are fortunate enough to spend their first year in a reception class with 15 classmates. There are three mixed-age classes in Key Stage 1 and 2 with roughly 30 pupils in each.
Graded as Good in our last Ofsted inspection, pupils attitudes to learning, their behaviour around the school and the vibrancy and diversity of our curriculum were all picked out as real strengths. We have been graded as Outstanding in our last Church school inspection with the relationships between staff, pupils and parents highlighted as key positive areas, along with the opportunities all staff have to lead areas of the curriculum.
We have an enthusiastic and welcoming staff team who is committed to seeing the school achieve the best for its pupils. We believe the induction of new staff members is key, and have training opportunities available both in school and in the local cluster of schools in order to support initial practice. We have a very supportive parent body that have funded the development of our library and improvements in our music curriculum. We are part of the Tenax multi-academy trust, and also the Sevenoaks Partnership of Schools, benefitting from the close links with other local schools in both networks. We are looking for someone who is willing to join our small and dedicated team, working alongside other staff to continue learning and continue moving learning forward.
