Information about the school

St. John’s School is a very successful ‘stand-alone’ two form entry Church of England Primary Academy. We have an excellent reputation in our community as a school where our pupils enjoy a nurturing, respectful, fun and friendly place to learn. We take pride in our high achievements and as a school we are passionate about the environment; this has been recognised by Eco Schools through being awarded the prestigious Green Flag.

We opened in September 1987 and serve primarily the Grove Green and Bearsted Park areas. Our most recent full Ofsted inspection (July 2015) rated us Outstanding in all areas; in 2019 we were also rated highly in our Church Schools inspection as well as by Ofsted in their inspection of our History curriculum.

St. Johns is well resourced and set in extensive grounds where pupils can enjoy plenty of outdoors space to play and learn. We are supported by a strong governing body and have an active ‘Friends’ parents association, who bring our school together to host events throughout the year.
