Tunbury Primary School is looking for confident, reliable and enthusiastic person to supervise the safe passage of school children and other pedestrians who are accompanying them, across the Tunbury Avenue (in accordance with the Road Traffic Regulations 1981).

The 'School Crossing Patrol Officer' will be responsible for deciding when it is safe to stop traffic, using the crossing patrol sign, to give clear signals to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

It is essential for the individual to have a knowledge of Road Safety and possess good communication skills. At times, you may be required to liaise with the school and the police to assist in reporting accidents and other incidents at the crossing site.

In addition, you will also be provided with all equipment and uniform required to carry out the role.

The position is for 10 hours per week, 38 weeks per year. The working hours are between 8.15am and 9.15am and 2.45pm and 3.45pm Monday to Friday.The successful applicant will be paid within Kent Scheme Grade KR2, which is £15,627 for a full time appointment, and will be pro rata for part-time hours (£3482.94).
