Information about the school

St Peter's CE Primary School is a happy, successful and over subscribed school with 210 children on roll. Our school is set in a beautiful part of Tunbridge Wells. Although it is possible to easily walk into the centre of Tunbridge Wells from our school, we are set on the edge of the town in the Hawkenbury Village area. Our children live locally to our school with many walking from the surrounding roads.

We have a wonderful site, with far reaching views, forest school, a field and a beautiful new building which was completed in 2021.

Values of Courage, Compassion and Respect are central to our school ethos. People who visit our school often comment on the welcome they receive from pupils and staff alike.

Our school vision shapes who we are as a community:

Built upon courage, compassion and respect, excellence in learning and ambition in teaching, our school lights the way to a world of possibilities.

With relationships at our core, we nurture every individual. Each unique contribution is valued.

All flourish, making a difference as global citizens and as a beacon in our local community.

To achieve our vision, St Peter’s aims to: • Enable all children to flourish • Provide an inclusive educational setting that nurtures the potential of every child • Develop, encourage and support an enthusiastic, committed staff, open to new ideas and challenges • Be a vibrant hub for the local community with strong links to the church

Our inclusive curriculum has been carefully designed to provide all children with a broad and balanced education, through which our pupils are given a wide variety of opportunities and experiences to grow and develop academically, physically, socially, morally and spiritually. This is complemented by a wide range of extra-curricular activities including sports, arts, music and well-being to support the children to flourish.

More information about our curriculum and wider offer can be found on our school website. The school newsletters are a good place to find out more about who we are as a school and the things we do. (These can be found on our website.)
