We are looking for a candidate who has very high expectations of themselves and others and works well within a team.  The successful candidate may work with children with additional needs including children who have a physical disability and/or medical needs and are happy to support personal care needs.   Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience of leading intervention groups.

Applications are invited from individuals who have:

  • relevant and recent experience of working as a TA in a school
  • outstanding attendance and punctuality
  • at least NVQ2
  • GCSE Maths & English at grade C+ or equivalent
  • good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • experience working in a 1:1 role to support a child with additional needs
  • ability and confidence to work with a range of children and confidently manage behaviour
  • an ability to communicate, take on board advice, use your initiative and meet deadlines
  • a great sense of humour!

Information about the school

Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School is an inclusive, non-denominational school working in partnership with the Tunbridge Wells Primary Schools Collaborative Trust. The school was built in 1967 and is situated on the western edge of Tunbridge Wells in a leafy and pleasant residential area.

The school site is beautiful, elevated and fringed with green playing fields and woods. A fragrant quiet garden, pond and wooden structures in the grounds offer opportunities for happy playtimes.

We have just under 230 pupils in the primary and nursery classes. We also have a designation for children with physical disabilities and complex medical needs who are all included in mainstream.

We run Wrap Around Care at the beginning of the day and after school for our school and nursery children and during the holidays we run a Holiday Club for all children in the community.
