An Outstanding Opportunity for a Passionate and Inspiring Leader

Danecourt School is an Outstanding Special Needs Primary School (October - 2012) that believes all children deserve the best educational opportunities. We are on an exciting phase of our development, having joined Barnsole Primary Trust in April 2018. The Trustees and Local Governing Board are seeking an inspirational and passionate leader to build upon the excellent foundations that are already in place.

The Trust is made up of Barnsole Primary School (Outstanding – March 2016) and Bligh Primary School, incorporating Infant and Junior schools with a Nursery. Bligh Infant School is an outstanding school (July 2015) and Bligh Junior School is a good school (Feb 2013). Each school within the Trust retains its own distinctive ethos and identity; the schools work closely to ensure best practice and provision for the children within. In recruiting a Head of School, we are seeking someone to help shape and share our values, vision and ethos. By working together, we want to ensure that Danecourt School enables every child to reach their full potential to be as independent as possible both as learners and as members of the wider community.

You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and your Senior Leadership Team, to support us in achieving the very best for the children at Danecourt School.

Our children and staff want a Head of School who:

    • is an inspirational leader with a track record of improving outcomes for children;
    • has a demonstrable commitment to excellence and continues to build on Danecourt’s successes;
    • is approachable and values, encourages and nurtures the development of all school staff;
    • has empathy with the staff and helps them to strike a good work-life balance;
    • leads by example and goes the ‘extra mile’ for the staff and children;
    • exhibits and encourages best practice in the classroom;
    • believes in providing a rounded education of pupils through sport, the arts and other activities;
    • has high expectations of themselves and others; and
    • fosters close links between home, school
