 Meadows School is a successful non-maintained residential and day special school (7-16) and off-site unit 16+ unit (16-19) run by Barnardo’s, providing education for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties; Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Speech and Language difficulties and associated learning difficulties.

DRAMA AND ENGLISH TEACHER

 

Salary Scale –

Main Teaching Scale/Upper Pay Scale plus SEN allowance

 

Ideally to start Autumn 2018/Spring 2019 – start date negotiable

 

We require a Drama and English teacher who can;

  • Teach across the school
  • Teach primarily drama/performing arts and English and any other areas as directed to make up a full teaching timetable
  • Relate well to children and adults

 

And who has;

  • Experience in a classroom setting
  • Experience of working with difficult and demanding young people
  • A flexible approach combined with patience, tolerance and stamina
  • A willingness to undertake further training

Information about the school

Meadows School is a successful non-maintained day special school (7–19) incorporating an off-site primary campus run by Barnardo's. The school provides education for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties; Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Speech and Language difficulties and associated learning difficulties. Students all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or are in the process of obtaining one. We offer placements on a 38 week Monday-Friday basis. Meadows School provides education and care for up to 100 students. The main campus is a 19 acre site with a large purpose-built school building, a gym block and post-16 provision. There are 8 classroom bases and several subject-based rooms including; science lab, IT suite and Food Technology area. The primary campus is in Tunbridge Wells and caters for KS2 students. Currently some 80 staff are employed across the school.
