We are looking to appoint a number of casual relief Teaching Assistants to provide cover in classes when the usual staff are not available.     

The appointment is for a zero hours contract, work will be offered as and when available.  We are offering the opportunity to work in one of the largest Infant Schools in Kent, in a very supportive atmosphere.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Have relevant qualifications or experience.
  • A strong communicator who enjoys building relationships with children, parents and carers. Understand the ethos which underpins our school.
  • Be a good team player, flexible and prepared to use their initiative.
  • Be committed to their own professional development.
  • Be someone who enjoys working with young children and is fun to work with!
  • Be imaginative, creative, very energetic and prepared to work outside, whatever the weather!

Information about the school

This large thriving school is well established in the area and shares a site with Herne Bay Junior School, bounded by Kings Road and Stanley Road and enjoying a central position in the town.

The school is a 3 form entry with a nursery and there are currently 300 children on roll. There is a good staff/pupil ratio throughout the school ensuring an inclusive, creative, supportive and secure environment.

As a school committed to safeguarding children all staff members will undergo an enhanced DBS check and candidates will be assessed on their suitability to work with children. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, checks include references, online searches and health clearance before employment.
