Administrator – SENCO Support

Salary Scale – Barnardo’s W18A (£18,220.15 to £20,898.59)

Hours: 3 days per week (to be agreed) (21.75 hours)

Pro-rata for 39 weeks of the year

 

Ideally to start Autumn 2018 (start negotiable)

 

We require a SENCo Support Administrator who can;

  • Support the SENCo with daily administrative duties
  • Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with the SENCo to manage the provision for children in care
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of meetings and discussions (with parent/carers and external agencies)
  • Be the designated support for children in care – produce minutes of meetings, update information and occasionally chair meetings in the absence of the SENCo

 

And who has;

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience of working/willingness to work with/understanding of young people with challenging behaviours
  • Highly-developed IT skills (Microsoft Office packages)
  • A flexible approach combined with patience, tolerance and stamina and humour
  • A willingness to undertake further training
  • Confidence and the ability to chair meetings when needed.

Information about the school

Meadows School is a successful non-maintained day special school (7–19) incorporating an off-site primary campus run by Barnardo's. The school provides education for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties; Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Speech and Language difficulties and associated learning difficulties. Students all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or are in the process of obtaining one. We offer placements on a 38 week Monday-Friday basis. Meadows School provides education and care for up to 100 students. The main campus is a 19 acre site with a large purpose-built school building, a gym block and post-16 provision. There are 8 classroom bases and several subject-based rooms including; science lab, IT suite and Food Technology area. The primary campus is in Tunbridge Wells and caters for KS2 students. Currently some 80 staff are employed across the school.
