We are seeking two reliable, motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking members of staff to work with in and support our After School Club for up to 20 children (aged 4-11) Monday to Friday during term time.

This is a new and exciting role providing a relaxed and enjoyable environment and excellent activities for pupils in after school care.

The role is for 16.25 hours per week.  3:00pm – 6:15pm Monday to Friday term time only.

Salary will be paid on Kent Range2 £15,627 (£5,746.95 pro rata)

The post would especially suit someone with a qualification and/or experience in childcare/working with children.

We are looking for someone that:

  • Enjoys working with children
  • Can create imaginative and creative indoor and outdoor activities for children of varying ages
  • Can work well in a team to deliver an excellent experience for the children
  • Can communicate effectively with adults and children
  • Will work within set procedures and guidelines for good practice when working within an after-school club.
  • Has knowledge of basic food hygiene – desirable but not essential as training will be provided
  • Has a paediatric first aid qualification – desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

Visits to the school are welcomed.

Information about the school

Bysing Wood is a friendly Primary School located on the western outskirts of Faversham. The school is growing in popularity, building on a successful Ofsted and the fantastic range of facilities offered alongside a great atmosphere. Currently the school has 240 children on roll, organised into 10 classes from Reception to Year 6. A building project to become 2 form entry over the next few years has been completed and provides the base for our Key Stage 2 classes. September 2018 saw the start of a Forest School provision on site and we opened a pre-school in January 2020, catering for 2,3 and 4 year olds. In March 2020, we were a founder member of EKC Schools Trust, which provides access to the EKC Group colleges' resources to further enrich our curriculum. At Bysing Wood Primary School we value each child as an individual and encourage them to achieve their personal best in a happy, secure, stimulating environment. The displays in school are a major strength and help evidence the rich, relevant, termly topic-based curriculum (with associated visitors and trips) on offer. Our staff are committed to developing the whole child, encouraging learning through knowledge, skills and practical activities. We also support them to become tolerant, respectful and caring individuals who enjoy their work and play and are proud of their achievements. The proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals is high, pointing to the social and economic challenges facing a proportion of our families, although the profile is changing over time as the housing developments in Faversham come on stream.
