Vacancy:                    Co-opted Governor

Tunbury Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join their Governing Body. As a co-opted Governor you would be a key part of the Governing Body and you would contribute towards the Governing Body’s vision to provide high quality governance and strategic oversight over the school’s activities and operations.

The main role of the Governing Body is to establish the school’s strategic direction by:

  • Setting the vision, values, and objectives for the school
  • Agreeing the school improvement strategy with priorities and targets
  • Meeting statutory duties

The main attributes that we are looking for from the newly co-opted Governor are:

  • The ability to work in a team
  • An interest in education and a commitment to the school
  • Enthusiasm for taking on an active role on the Governing Body
  • Availability to attend Governing Body meetings and carrying out monitoring visits to the school
  • A willingness to listen, learn and to undertake training
