Please read the Person Specifications (below) carefully and make reference to them in your application.

We are seeking someone who is positive in their outlook, flexible in their approach and a good team player. Experience of supporting individual children would be an advantage but not essential.

  • Motivate and encourage the pupil(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils’ needs, developing the child’s resilience and self-esteem.
  • Assist in weaker areas, e.g. development of phonic skills and early reading.
  • Use praise, commentary and assistance to encourage the pupil to concentrate and stay on task – taking in to account the need for ‘brain breaks’ and ‘movement breaks’

  • Provide additional nurture to individuals when requested by the class teacher or SENCO.
  • Consistently and effectively implement agreed behaviour management strategies.
