Foreland Fields School is looking to appoint a hard working, skilled, dependable and self-motivated Assistant Caretaker with a good range of practical skills to start as soon as possible.  The position is physical in nature and includes working outside and involves lifting/moving furniture and equipment.

This is a Fixed Term Contract, initially for 4 months but may be extended.  The post is for 37 hours per week, working from 6.00 am until 2.00 pm daily.  These hours may vary.

Reporting to the School Business Manager the post holder will work to ensure the effective management, organisation and supervision of all matters relating to the school's premises, including maintenance and site security in order to ensure a safe and secure environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. 

Additional minibus driving duties will also need to be undertaken.  Therefore, candidates must hold a full, clean driving licence with a D1 entitlement or equivalent.  You must also be prepared to undertake any necessary training and assessment.

Information about the school

Foreland Fields School is a Day Special School for pupils with Profound, Severe and Complex Needs (PSCN), many of whom also have Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

We provide for 200+ pupils aged 3-19 in five departments, Nursery, Infants, Juniors (KS2) Secondary (KS3) and KS4/6th Form. In addition, we have satellite classes at Garlinge Primary School, Hartsdown Academy and East Kent College.
