Advert

This is a rare opportunity to join our friendly staff as an unqualified Music Teacher. The position is part-time, Monday to Thursday afternoons 1-3.30pm, as part of the school's PPA cover timetable.

You would have the opportunity to teach music to years 3 to 6 with support from a teaching assistant. We have a very experienced Music Leader who is availble to support the organisation of the music curriculum.

Minterne is passionate about the benefits that music provides for our children; we run several types of music club, including our own orchestra, and participate in many local music concerts and festivals.

We are keen to find the right candidate who will continue to build on our pupils' love and enjoyment of music throughout the school.

Information about the school

Minterne is a large 3 form entry Junior School with an attached speech and language unit called The Acorn Centre. The school serves a pleasant residential area of the town. Facilities are excellent and include an ICT suite with 35 PCs. The school has a large, well-stocked library. We have also built a second hall.

The supportive staff work closely in Year Group Teams. Minterne was graded as Good by Ofsted in October 2021. The school is well known for Creativity, Sport and Music.

Minterne is part of Our Community Multi Academy Trust. The infant and junior schools share a specialist unit resource for children with speech and language difficulties.

Minterne is committed to stringent Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment. Any anomalies or gaps in employment history will be vigorously pursued prior to any job offer.
