We are looking to appoint a Senior Cover Supervisor with good interpersonal and behaviour management skills to take over this important strategic and operational role. 

You will be responsible on a daily basis for:

  • the fair and effective deployment of staff resources to cover for planned and unplanned staff absence
  • the delivery of cover lessons 

This role requires good knowledge of the workings of a school and the needs of teaching and support staff.  Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience of working in a similar role, although applicants with no experience but a clear willingness to learn the role quickly may also be considered.   

The successful candidate will be expected to be on call from early each morning, as well as make strategic plans at other points during the day, so a willingness to work these hours and reliability are key requirements of the role. 

This post is for 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus staff development days), offered on Kent Range 6 (£19864-£21789/pro-rata £16762-£18386).  Hours of work are 7.50am - 3.45pm Monday-Thursday and 7.50am - 3.40pm on Friday including 30 minutes unpaid lunch break.

Highworth Grammar School is an over-subscribed 11 – 18, selective girls’ school of 1534 students with 446 students in the Sixth Form (80 boys). We are situated in the South East of England, with excellent transport links to both the rest of Kent and London.
