EYFS Nursery Teaching Post plus shared SENCO role.

Due to staff relocation a rare opportunity has arisen to join our outstanding Early Years team as an experienced EYFS practitioner and EYFS/KS1 SENCO.

This is a full time post (MPS + TLR) with 4 teaching days and a day a week management time.

We welcome applications for this exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced EYFS teacher to join our EYFS team from September 2018. We are an outstanding EYFS setting in a good school where staff and children thrive. We are committed to the education of the whole child, and believe that children flourish in an environment in which they feel safe and cared for.

In our school, children achieve their full potential happy in the knowledge that they are appreciated for their individuality and their achievements. We strive to achieve high academic standards for all children and believe that this is best accomplished through ambitious teaching that is engaging, innovative and personalised to children’s needs. In order to develop both curiosity and a lifelong love of learning we engage children in learning experiences which motivate and deepen their understanding. We are proud of our friendly and welcoming school.

Our bright, modern nursery setting is based in a purpose built, detached space within the school site and benefits from a large outdoor area, kitchen facilities, dedicated staff and a generous learning space to enable free flow activities.

We strongly encourage you to visit our school to see our outstanding Early Years setting in action.

Part of the role will also incorporate a shared SEN responsibility working alongside our KS2 SENCO. Our SENCO’s work closely with the Headteacher, SLT, teachers, parents and external agencies to monitor and review provision for groups of children and individuals.

We are looking to appoint an experienced EYFS teacher who either holds the National Award for SEN or would be willing to (funded and supported by the school and academy trust) complete it within 3 years of appointment.

We will offer you:

A supported role as KS1/EYFS SENCO working alongside our KS2 SENCO

A ‘can do’ culture in which to learn and grow

A school where teaching talent is nurtured and encouraged to flourish.

A high quality learning environment

Strong leadership from both school and academy trust to support you in your role

Development opportunities both within the school and across the Village Academy Trust

Information about the school

We are an average sized primary school with a growing roll of hard working, polite and friendly children. The school has a team of friendly and skilful teachers who deliver a broad and interesting curriculum. At our last inspection we were judged to be a good school with an outstanding early year’s provision. Our teachers work hard, but as OFSTED noted we are also aware of the importance of a good work-life balance and morale is high amongst staff.

The school is well resourced, with large buildings, outdoor space and excellent local facilities for exploring learning outside the classroom.

Although Lydd is Kents most southerly village, it is well connected by road to many main towns. It is an easy commute from Ashford (where many of the staff live), Hastings, Dover, Folkestone and Hythe. Do come and meet our friendly staff and wonderful children, you are sure of a warm welcome.
