Information about the school

Staplehurst School has been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We are proud that ‘the school’s values of positivity, respect, independence, determination and excellence (PRIDE) are seamlessly woven into everyday life’ Ofsted January 2022. Our school is a two form entry community school, with approximately 400 pupils. Situated conveniently, between Maidstone and Cranbrook, in a beautiful rural part of Kent, the school, with its ‘outward-facing, best practice at heart’ culture, has achieved sustained academic improvement and continues to retain an excellent, enthusiastic team of staff.

Blessed within beautiful and spacious grounds, Staplehurst School has the added benefit of two large sports halls, music room, library and a lovely Early Years outside space, as well as a Breakfast Club available from 7.30am and an After School Club until 5.30pm.

Staplehurst School continues to be at the heart of the village community, where we pride ourselves on being an integral part of the everyday lives of people in the village. It is this community support, together with the caring and commitment from staff, which contributes to the well-being of the children. The Governing Body, staff and parents are an ambitious and dedicated team, working together to promote the school, and where our aim is to ensure each child reaches their full potential.

At Staplehurst School children definitely come first!

At Staplehurst, we consider our curriculum to be knowledge-rich. We view the curriculum as the mastery of a body of subject-specific knowledge, the definition of which has been carefully considered and sequenced to offer children the best opportunities as successful 21st century citizens. We champion the importance of invaluable knowledge that children deserve – this informs how we grow our pupils, and how we ensure that when they leave, they have had a rich, culturally diverse experience and are ready to progress to secondary school as well-rounded, considerate individuals.

Our school is committed to equality as well as safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. In line with KCSIE guidance, all candidates who are shortlisted will be subject to an online search. This search is not part of the shortlisting process itself and all shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to address any issues of concern resulting from the search.
