Literacy Support Officer at Orchards Academy

Orchards Academy is a forward thinking school committed to developing life chances of students by supporting their Additional Needs within a mainstream setting.

Orchards Academy are looking for a committed professional who can have classroom responsibilities in the form of some literacy teaching, whilst being able to manage the organisation and monitoring of our whole school reading program. We are looking for a flexible colleague who enjoys: supporting children in the classroom, small group and one to one intervention. 

Good organisational skills  and confidence in the use of ICT will be essential for the role.

We would like to invite applicants who feel confident in developing the literacy skills of our learners.

Training around developing literacy and reading will be provided. As part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT), Orchards Academy has a strong commitment to professional development of staff.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post, in accordance with the Immigration Act 2016

Salary: Kent Range 6 (£19,864 - £21,789) Actual salary for term time only pro rata to £16,760 approx.

Hours/weeks: 37 hours per week Monday - Friday. Term time only plus 5 inset days.
