We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative teacher/ NQT to join our forward-thinking team as a class teacher. We are a good school with an outstanding EYFS and we would like you to contribute towards our journey of continued improvement. This post would be a full time position in Key Stage One.

We want to inspire you to inspire others and to love what you do. We offer you the opportunity to be creative within the class room and to work collaboratively with our team of talented teachers and teaching assistants and across our Trust. We are a friendly school who value work life balance and cake on the staff room table.

Our children achieve well but we also want them to remember their learning experience at our school with a smile and with laughter. We want them to leave as effective learners and well-prepared for their future. We want to celebrate every child’s achievement whether it is in geography or grammar, music or mathematics; we want a teacher who feels it is a privilege to be able to do this.

Lydd is a fabulous place for learning because we already have:

Dedicated, hard-working staff that are passionate about what they do.

Amazing children who are kind, courageous and curious

A community that helps each other and develops together

A spacious setting with amazing potential for outdoor learning; we have a well enveloped garden and pond area.

Governors who understand the pressures of the curriculum and embrace new ideas

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, engages with children and staff in policy and practice developments, and proactively encourages feedback. The successful candidate will require a Criminal Records disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), including checks against the barred list.

Information about the school

We are an average sized primary school with a growing roll of hard working, polite and friendly children. The school has a team of friendly and skilful teachers who deliver a broad and interesting curriculum. At our last inspection we were judged to be a good school with an outstanding early year’s provision. Our teachers work hard, but as OFSTED noted we are also aware of the importance of a good work-life balance and morale is high amongst staff.

The school is well resourced, with large buildings, outdoor space and excellent local facilities for exploring learning outside the classroom.

Although Lydd is Kents most southerly village, it is well connected by road to many main towns. It is an easy commute from Ashford (where many of the staff live), Hastings, Dover, Folkestone and Hythe. Do come and meet our friendly staff and wonderful children, you are sure of a warm welcome.
