We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in our Infant School for approximately 25 hours a week.

Thurnham is a substantially oversubscribed school with a long tradition of high standards and applicants must enjoy the challenges arising from an environment of high expectations and achievement. We are offering the opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive school environment where “we learn to love and love to learn!” The post will initially be for one year. There may be some additional lunch time cover duties included. The successful candidate should also:

*Have relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ2 or NVQ3 in Learning Support/ Level 3 Teaching Assistant).

*Demonstrate sound knowledge of good Key Stage 1 or Foundation Stage practice.

*Have a firm, fair and positive approach to behaviour management that supports our School Behaviour Management Policy.

*Demonstrate a sound knowledge of intervention programmes and their impact.

*Have good English and Maths skills.

*Be a good team player, flexible and prepared to use their initiative.

*Be committed to their own professional development.

Most of all be a fun, creative and enthusiastic member of a team.

The school roll is currently 271 pupils, spread over nine classes (three classes per year group).
