St Simon of England RC Primary School is looking to appoint a Communication Support Teaching Assistant to support a child in our Reception class from September 2018. The vacancy is for 26.25 hours per week on a term time only basis plus an additional 5 non-contact days.

This will be on a temporary contract.

Responsibilities would include helping the child to communicate, support them with learning, help access the curriculum and develop their sign language skills. The successful candidate will also be expected to carry out normal classroom support duties as directed by the class teacher.

Previous experience of working with children with social and communication difficulties would be an advantage. We would ideally prefer a candidate who has experience and/or a qualification in British Sign Language up to Level 2 and recent experience of working within a school supporting children with hearing impairment.
