Are you passionate about making a difference and promoting outstanding provision within special educational needs?

Does supporting meaningful and personalised learning in small classes of up to six pupils appeal to you?

Small Haven School is a small independent specialist school, currently registered to take pupils from age 6-18 years, with a range of special educational needs. The children are at the heart of the school, which aims to work therapeutically in order to meet the holistic needs of each individual and allow them to thrive. At the centre of this approach is providing a safe and stimulating learning environment in which the children can build appropriate positive attachments with staff.

TA’s play a crucial role within the school and support the children with their social, emotional and academic development. Class sizes range from between four to six children with a ratio of two pupils to one member of staff. This allows for excellent levels of support and differentiation and facilitates sound understanding of each child and their individual needs.

• be confident, calm, enthusiastic and demonstrate a positive and professional attitude with a good sense of humour!

In return we can offer you a highly rewarding position with:

• A strong, dynamic Leadership Team with a clear vision to work alongside
• A commitment to staff wellbeing with opportunities for reward
• Quality resources and a highly maintained working environment
• A ratio of two pupils to one member of staff to enable effective support
• A dedicated team within a supportive and friendly community

Ideally applicants should be experienced in supporting children with challenging behaviour and have some knowledge of the development and learning styles of children with special educational needs.
