We have a vacancy for a Nursery Assistant who is caring, committed and can relate to both children and adults but most importantly be able to work as part of a team. This position is for 32.5 hours per week to cover maternity leave from September 2018 – July 2019, Monday to Friday, term time only.

A childcare qualification level 3 e.g. NVQ, CACHE Diploma, BTEC National Diploma is essential, and applicants should have at least one year's paid/unpaid experience of working with children from 2 - 5 years old. A high standard of care for the children attending the Nursery is required and you should be competent in preparing assessment and development records in addition to being able to show an understanding of the importance of treating information and matters relating to work within the Nursery as confidential. A current paediatrics first aid certificate would also be desirable.

Information about the school

Greatstone Primary School is a Foundation School with ten classes and approximately 250 children. We also have a 40 place Nursery on site. We are a well maintained rural school set in large open grounds close to the sandy beaches of the south east coast and the unique landscape and nature reserve at Dungeness. The school has good access by road and is about 30 minutes drive from both Ashford and Folkestone.

The School and Nursery have a very good reputation within the local area and is renowned for the excellent behaviour of its children and the high expectations of its staff. We have a reputation for delivering a high standard of education in a friendly, happy and supportive environment. The school was rated Good in its last OFSTED inspection carried out during May 2022.
