KS2 (Year 6) Teacher - Independent Special Needs School

September 2018 start - West Heath School Qualified Teacher Pay Range

An exciting opportunity for a passionate, skilled, flexible and committed professional to work with our small cohort of Year 6 students in our outstanding SEN school. We have a Year 6 provision within our secondary school setting. You will be supporting students with their academic, personal and social development. This role is demanding and challenging, but veryrewarding. All of our learners have ECHPs and as a school we are proud to promote the development of life skills and social development as equal to academic achievement. West Heath School work towards the end goal of helping students re-integrate into mainstream learning and preparation for adulthood.

 

Key Requirements

 

 

  • QTS/PGCE or equivalent, preferably primary and/or SEN trained

 

  • Understanding of SEN teaching strategies and techniques

 

  • Proactive, creative and innovative

 

  • Emotionally robust and resilient

 

  • Flexible and adaptable

 

  • Autonomous thinker

 

  • Good level of English and Maths

 

  • Experience of working in SEN schools preferred but not essential
