The School

This is a school with dedication to a rich and challenging curriculum for all pupils. We have an excellent track record regarding inclusive practices and are currently working towards becoming a beacon school for inclusion. There is a strong and varied team here with a well established Speech & Language Therapist on site. Pupils have a variety of conditions including Autism, speech and language difficulties and emotional and behavioural challenges and the Specialist provision unit will focus on supporting the most vulnerable. We are a four form entry school with high standards on a journey towards becoming an outstanding setting.

The Role

We have seen a rise in pupils with communication difficulties, which has warranted the need for an increase in headcount within Speech and communication therapy provision. The focus here will be within the classroom on curriculum based activities as well as specific individual therapeutic support. The leadership team are looking at staffing and support for the next academic year. You will  work alongside the Speech and Language Therapist in post as well as the Deputy of the specialist provision, initially supporting a small group of students. You will report lesson and activity progress and contribute ideas and planning elements.

The Person

The school is looking for a positive and dynamic Speech and Language therapist who enjoys the experience  of working within the classroom and can make a positive contribution to the speech and language team. You will  have classroom experience already through paid or voluntary work and be able to work autonomously with each student. You will be able to prove your ability to encourage, develop and support pupils in a creative and passionate way
