We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Chartham Primary as soon as possible. You should be a positive and enthusiastic person who loves working with children and helping them to strive for their best.

Whilst experience is desirable, it is not essential; you must have a minimum 'C' grade in English and Maths. Your numeracy and literacy will be of a high enough standard to support and extend children throughout the primary age range. You will be able to communicate effectively with children and adults, have a flexible attitude, a good sense of humour, and be friendly and approachable. Good time management and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential.

Responsibilities will include: • Leading groups of children in focus interventions • 1:1 support • Supporting children in achieving the lesson objective in Literacy, Maths and across all areas of the curriculum • Feeding back to the class teacher and sometimes keeping records of progress and behaviour • Working with different year groups to support any social, emotional, behavioural or medical needs • Preparing resources and some administrative work • Displaying children's work creatively • Lunch duty • Some cover supervision, involving covering whole classes.

Above all, you need to be determined to help our children achieve their best, and be prepared to put their needs first. Children will be at the heart of your work. You must be able to demonstrate that you understand the importance of educating the whole child within a creative and innovative school setting.

All applications will be considered and all relevant training will be given to the right candidate. If you are interested in this position, please complete the application form on this site.

The position is for 30 hours per week, term time only (8.45am to 3.15pm), at Kent Range 3 (£15,628-£17,188 pro rata).
