This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the next phase of a successful federation’s journey. We are looking for an ambitious person to join our happy team and welcome applications from both NQTs and experienced practitioners from all primary Key Stages.   We can be flexible to accommodate year group preferences as we want to complement the skills and knowledge within our existing team.

We are looking for:

  • A passionate outstanding teacher who can motivate and inspire the children to achieve the highest possible pupil outcomes
  • A teacher with high expectations of behaviour for learning and the ability to create an interesting learning environment
  • An ability to communicate and work as part of a team within the school and across the Federation
  • A teacher with a sense of humour, able to appreciate the joy in our learning community and engage with our supportive parent/carers

We are able to offer:

  • A friendly, well-established team in a calm and purposeful learning environment
  • Support and guidance from our executive head teacher and extended leadership team
  • Children who demonstrate outstanding behaviours for learning and are a pleasure to be around
  • A variety of high quality professional development opportunities, with local and national partners
  • Excellent school grounds with forest school, where opportunities for high quality outdoor learning are facilitated

We welcome visits to both schools. Please ring 01795 842344 to arrange an appointment at either school.

This post involves working with children and therefore if successful you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service records check at an enhanced level. We are committed to equality and diversity in employment practice and service delivery.

Information about the federation

Newington CEP School and Lower Halstow School are single form entry village Primary Schools for children aged 2 - 11 and 4-11. Both have close links with their village church and community and spacious school grounds. Our schools offer a safe secure learning environment and are well equipped with a variety of resources and healthy budget for projects.

Newington was extended in 2000 with 4 additional classrooms and library and the original building has been fully renovated with the addition of an outdoor classroom and MUGA. It has an on-site nursery building catering for pupils from 2 years old. Lower Halstow School moved into its present building in October 2005 and offers many modern facilities such as a sports hall, running track, outdoor classroom, ICT suite & separate dining hall.

We have supportive governors and parents and our pupils are happy, polite, enthusiastic and are proud of their school. We are constantly striving to improve the opportunities for all and are always looking for new ways to make learning engaging and effective. Both schools have been graded Good in inspections in March and May 2019. Please read our reports to get a feel for our ethos or look at our X (twitter) feeds @NewingtonCEP or @lowerhalstowsch.

We are committed to ongoing professional development and our staff regularly access local and regional training. The schools work closely together to reduce workload and support well-being and both schools have a commitment to allowing flexible working wherever possible.
