Are you passionate about delivering a knowledge-rich curriculum?

Are you a specialist in Maths?

Are you committed to an inclusive academic approach to learning?

Turner Free School is looking for an exceptional Maths teacher to join our exciting new secondary Free School, which is opening in Folkestone in September 2018 to Year 7 students. Our goal is to set a new standard in non-selective education through offering a rigorous knowledge-based curriculum, which will equip our students with cultural capital and enable them to thrive in education and in life. Ultimately, at the Turner Free School, we want every child to follow any dream, be able to achieve any goal and to be anything that they want to be!

In order to achieve this, we aim for all students to complete the EBACC and to aspire towards university or professional employment. Moreover, we are looking for candidates who are passionate about our students becoming: confident and engaged readers; able to speak an additional working language beyond Standard English (ideally French or Mandarin); and know how to develop tolerant and respectful citizens.

At Turner Free School, we will create a strong community, which will be underpinned by excellent, courteous relationships between staff, students, parents and the local area. In addition, we ill operate a system of Family Dining, which will be packed-lunch free. All staff will dine with students to build relationships, ensure social inclusion and develop confidence in trying new foods. This will ensure that all students are part of our community and that they can develop fluency in conversations, impeccable manners and the ability to show appreciation for those around them.

We welcome applications from exellent Maths teachers, with a passion for delivering challenging, inspiring and knowledge-rich lessons for all. We are looking for reflective practitioners, who are willing to work collaboratively, and who will go the extra mile to ensure success for our students.

As a founding member of the school, you will play a key role in establishing our curriculum, expectations and ethos, and will have significant ownership over the delivery of our subject area. We are dedicated to continuous professional development in all areas, and will ensure that you receive high quality and effective training in order to support you in your role.
