We are seeking to appoint a teacher to join our dynamic and successful History department from September 2018 as cover for a colleague going on maternity leave. This post would suit an NQT or an experienced colleague.

 

Chatham & Clarendon Grammar School has an outstanding reputation in the local community for both its academic success and extra-curricular provisions. History is a popular option at GCSE and A level and many students opt to study the subject at university.

 

The successful applicant will, primarily, be responsible for delivering engaging lessons to our Key Stage Three students however, for the right candidate, there would be an opportunity to teach GCSE and A-Level. A willingness to contribute toward the ‘extra-curricular’ provision of the department would also be expected.

Information about the school

Formerly Chatham House and Clarendon House; the two schools federated in 2009 and the federated school became a new converter Academy from January 2011. A formal proposal to merge was submitted in February 2013 and this was agreed in June 2013. Therefore the schools became one school as of 1st September 2013: Chatham & Clarendon Grammar School.

The school remains a selective grammar school and offers a unique combination, not offered anywhere else in Thanet: a co-educational environment with a significant core of single-sex teaching running from Year 7 through to Year 11, topped off with a mixed 6th Form.
