Information about the school

'Caring, sharing, learning and achieving within a safe, happy and inclusive environment'

Ditton Infant School is a successful and popular, two-form entry school catering for children aged 4-7. We are situated in the heart of Ditton village and benefit from lots of green space which we share with our neighbouring junior school. We are a happy, caring and family-orientated school and promote a love of learning outdoors. Our professional, experienced staff team work together with parents and carers to ensure that our children develop as confident and independent learners in a happy environment which nurtures every child and challenges them to achieve their full potential. The school benefits from a high level of teaching assistant support who provide excellent educational and emotional support for all children. We believe that an effective induction of new staff members is key, and have training opportunities available both in school and within our collaboration of schools to enhance this. We have a very supportive governing body, as well as an active parent association who are keen to help fund improvements in our curriculum and school grounds.

Although the Ditton Infant and Junior schools have separate head teachers and governing bodies, both leadership teams are committed to working in close partnership in order to benefit the children and families they work with.

Everyone at Ditton Infant School is committed to safeguarding children. Any offer to successful candidates will be conditional upon satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS and health check; we will endeavour to request references before interviewing.

We will carry out an online search as part of our due diligence on any shortlisted candidates. This may help identify any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available on line, which we might want to explore with an applicant at interview. This information will be kept on file for 6 months, in line with data protection procedures
