Teacher of Science

At KS3 the Science department delivers the Edexcel Exploring Science curriculum. The department makes regular use of the farm in their learning, to take full advantage of this unique resource. In response the changes in the national curriculum, KS3 students are assessed against steps in a Trust wide policy, with support and advice available from colleagues spanning 3 academies. Bringing the theoretical to life and maximising the opportunities for practical hands-on experience are approaches we are looking for. Our new philosophy for education is set out in our Teaching and Learning Strategy which can be viewed on our website. Students progress to the new Edexcel 9-1 Combined Science GCSE course; achieving 2 GCSE qualifications by the end of year 11.

The post-holder will teach science at all Key Stages 3 and 4.This post would suit an NQT or an experienced teacher and you will be joining a friendly team, with a range of experience and expertise. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and committed professional to join us on our journey as we continue to raise standards, inspire students and develop young scientists of the future.

This role is full time and fixed term to the Summer 2018, with start date confirmed in negotiation with the successful candidate.

Visits to the academy are highly recommended, and the leadership team would be happy to discuss the vision for the academy with candidates either during a visit, or during a telephone conversation.
