At Folkestone St. Mary's Church of England Primary Academy, we are committed to raising standards for all children through an engaging curriculum based on a mixture of adult and child led learning.

Are you interested in a career in teaching and wish to gain experience before undertaking your teacher training, then this could be the job for you.

The Governors wish to appoint enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Professionals to join our dedicated, friendly team of children and staff to support learning. 30 hours per week, term time only.

The successful candiates will be responsible for running intervention sessions to pupils and will:-

  • Have NVQ3 or equivalent qualification or good GCSE results in English and Maths.
  • Be able to form excellent relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Able to assess learning and report on progress to class teacher.
  • Understand the need to challenge, inspire, motivate and support our children.
  • Be dedicated to high standards of achievement, attainment and behaviour.
  • Demonstrate impact on pupil attainment in core subjects in a previous role.
  • Have experience leading small groups focussing on plugging gaps.
  • Have a sound knowledge of teaching and learning strategies.
